According to the latest Skytrax report, Cape Town International Airport has claimed the top spot as the continent’s best airport, setting a new standard for service, efficiency, and traveller experience. OAG data reveals that 182.4 million seats were scheduled from January to October 2026, and 129.5 million of those were on international routes, an 18.6% jump from last year.
From the bustling hubs of Johannesburg and Casablanca to smaller but growing airports in Kigali, Mauritius, and Antananarivo, the continent is investing in smoother operations, modern terminals, and more flight connections. 2026 is shaping up to be a landmark year for African aviation.
