Electricity has been restored in several parts of Kenya, power distributor Kenya Power said on Thursday, following a power outage the previous evening.
Supply was restored across Mt. Kenya, North Rift, Western, South Nyanza and parts of Nairobi, the capital, the utility said in a statement on Wednesday night.
Earlier it said Nairobi, the coast, Mt. Kenya and parts of the Central Rift Valley had been hit by the outage. The remaining parts of Nairobi and the coast region would follow, it added in its statement.
Kenya last suffered major power blackouts on its grid in September and December 2024.
Kenya Power supplies more than 9.6 million customers in Kenya, it says on its website.
