Abstract: The global trend towards the Islamic economy is growing in all its sectors, especially in halal travel. This study sought to identify the most important developments in the African continent in the halal travel sector and the most important opportunities and challenges that accompany this important sector. The study examined the performance of all sectors of the Islamic economy in Africa, and addressed the concept of halal travel and its global market, as well as the most important indicators of the halal travel market in Africa, and tried to explore the future of halal travel in Africa by examining the opportunities and challenges of this sector. The study concluded that the global demand for halal travel is growing at an accelerated rate, and that the African continent has many opportunities to become a magnet for halal travel. At the same time, there are several challenges facing halal travel on the African continent, such as poor transport infrastructure, lack of uniform global standards and certificates for halal travel, lack of statistics related to it, and lack of financial resources to develop and market this sector. In order to overcome these challenges, the study suggested some recommendations that could contribute to the development of halal travel in the African continent. The most important of which is to understand the needs and preferences of Muslim travelers and deliver these needs through Muslim friendly facilities, provide services and infrastructure related to tourism, encourage businessmen and investors in Islamic countries to invest in this promising tourism sector, while taking advantage of digital applications in marketing for halal travel.
الملخص: شهدت السنوات الأخيرة تنامي الاهتمام العالمي بالسفر الحلال، وتتعدد مظاهر هذا الاهتمام؛ حيث تُوجّه الكثير من الدول– سواء إسلامية أو غير إسلامية- اهتمامها إلى تلبية احتياجات المسافر المسلم؛ من خلال توفير الشواطئ والمنتجعات التي تراعي خصوصية الشريعة الإسلامية، والحرص على تقديم العروض السياحية التي تشمل الفنادق والمرافق وخدمات السفر الملائمة للمسلمين، وانتشار المواقع الإلكترونية المختصة به. ويُقدّر سوق السفر الحلال العالمي بنحو 140 مليون مسافر في عام 2018م، ومن المتوقع أن يصل العدد إلى 230 مليون بحلول عام 2026م، كما أنّ جانب الطلب في السفر الحلال يأتي من كثيرٍ من الدول الإسلامية وغير الإسلامية، وكان على رأس الدول الإسلامية التي يفد منها السياح: الجزائر وأذربيجان وبنجلاديش ومصر وإندونيسيا وإيران، في حين تصدرت الدول غير الإسلامية: الصين وفرنسا وألمانيا والهند. وتصدّرت منطقة شمال إفريقيا والشرق الأوسط ودول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، من حيث الإنفاق على السفر الحلال، بمبلغ 54.4 مليار دولار عام 2018م. وبلغت استثمارات السياحة الحلال 40 مليون دولار، وهي الاستثمارات المفصح عنها في الأسهم الخاصّة أو رؤوس الأموال المخاطرة ما بين عامَي 2015 و2018م. ويُعدّ السفر الحلال أحد القطاعات الواعدة في الاقتصاد الإسلامي في القارة الإفريقية، ولا تزال منطقة شمال إفريقيا تستحوذ على هذا القطاع، وإن كانت منطقة جنوب الصحراء قد بدأت تجتذب جانباً من سوق السفر الحلال في السنوات الأخيرة. وتسعى هذه الدراسة إلى الوقوف على أبرز مستجدات القارة الإفريقية في قطاع السفر الحلال، وأهمّ الفرص والتحديات التي ترافق هذا القطاع المهم.
