Abstract:
The Article traces routes of electoral violence in sub-Saharan Africa by examining the contexts of power transfer and the accompanying violence, chaos, and social conflict. This research also discusses the causes and factors of electoral violence, which are raised by the issue of state-building in Africa and its recurrence on traditional inherited structures and institutions. The research also seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of the concept of electoral violence and its patterns, and to list some similar cases and experiences. It also proposes solutions and mechanisms to overcome electoral violence, consolidate peaceful routes for democratic construction and the transfer of power, and support the travails of the desired political stability in sub-Saharan Africa.
