<\/bdo> This study deals with the topic of African border areas, and the regional cooperation to confront security problems. On the other hand, it also reviews the historical legacy of the colonial powers and their role in drawing and forming these political borders and its consequences on the Nation State in the African continent. The study is also analyzing the natural or demographic peculiarities of the region and how many tribes are spread round the borders of many countries and what ensued as a result of the clashes between the political priorities and the social relationships that struggle against the case of fracturing, which is consequently deepened by the rugged landscape in the border areas.\nIn addition to the above items, the study also examines the most important issues which overlap with the economic dimension and the poor living conditions in the border communities; especially when public policies prevent them from economic activities that they for so long time have practiced as a main source of living. Then the study covers the issues that African countries seek to confront through regional cooperation, and with the various institutions that they have created to face a number of challenges that prevents these issues from being solved, as mentioned in the AU agenda for 2063. These challenges are divided between internal, whether local in one country or between many neighboring countries, or extended further to external roles of regional and international powers outside the continent, which contributes either directly or indirectly in fueling the problems in border areas, especially when they hold natural resources that these powers seek to acquire.\n<\/span><\/pre>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
