South Africa has accused the Ukrainian ambassador to the country of using \u201cundiplomatic\u201d ways to seek an audience with President Cyril Ramaphosa over the ongoing Russian invasion of the eastern Europe country.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Liubov Abravitova says she was forced to use Twitter to request a meeting with the president.<\/p>\n

She\u00a0accused the South African authorities<\/a>\u00a0of ignoring her numerous requests to meet Mr Ramaphosa and other ministers.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince the beginning of the Russian invasion, I did not have any requested meeting with South African government officials. My people are under brutal attack from Russians now,\u201d Ms Abravitova\u00a0posted on 10 April.<\/a><\/p>\n

Clayson Monyela, a senior official of the South African foreign ministry, however, denied the envoy\u2019s claims, saying she had already held meetings with several government officials.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmbassador, you know this is wrong and undiplomatic. We\u2019ve long made a request for HE Cyril Ramaphosa to speak to your president. You are not responding,\u201d\u00a0Mr Monyela replied on Twitter.<\/a><\/p>\n

The envoy defended her tweet, saying: \u201cI don\u2019t only have no choice, I have no time. My people are dying, tortured, raped.\u201d<\/p>\n

South Africa<\/a> has faced criticism its neutral stance on Russia\u2019s invasion of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
