A Nigerian military aircraft carrying \u200c25 passengers and seven crew members crashed near a naval base in southwestern \u200bOndo State after losing contact \u200bwith air traffic control while en \u2060route to Lagos, the aviation minister \u200bsaid on Monday.<\/p>\n
The minister, Festus Keyamo, \u200bsaid in a statement that controllers lost contact with the aircraft at 0813 GMT \u200band were unable to re-establish communication \u200bbefore its disappearance was reported.<\/p>\n
The wreckage was later \u200clocated \u2060near a naval base in the coastal town of Igbokoda, and search and rescue operations were underway, \u200bhe said.<\/p>\n
There \u200bwas no \u2060immediate confirmation of casualties from the crash.<\/p>\n
