Kenya’s Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy said on \u200bSaturday it was investigating a cybersecurity \u200cincident that affected the official website of the president, adding that there was no evidence so \u200bfar of unauthorised access to sensitive \u200bdata or loss of information.<\/p>\n
The ministry \u2060said the incident was detected by the \u200bgovernment’s ICT Authority, which immediately activated cybersecurity \u200bresponse protocols and temporarily restricted access to the presidential website to contain the issue and allow \u200bforensic investigations.<\/p>\n
The ministry said appropriate mitigation \u200bmeasures have since been implemented, and restoration of the \u200cwebsite \u2060is underway.<\/p>\n
“At this time, there is no evidence of unauthorised access to sensitive data, data exfiltration, or loss of information. \u200bGovernment systems and \u200bdigital \u2060services remain secure and operational,” cabinet secretary for the ministry William \u200bKabogo Gitau said in a \u200bstatement \u2060posted on X.<\/p>\n
