South Africa is willing \u200bto play a mediating role \u200cin the Middle East conflict if asked, President Cyril Ramaphosa told local media on the \u200bsidelines of an energy conference \u200bin Cape Town.<\/p>\n
“South Africa is always \u2060ready to play a contributing role, \u200beither in mediation or whatever. And \u200bif a gap opens or if we are asked, we always live up to our \u200bobligations,” Ramaphosa said, according to \u200bcomments broadcast on local broadcaster Newzroom Afrika.<\/p>\n
“If the \u200copportunity \u2060were to open, we would talk and say: there must be a ceasefire. Dialogue is always the best \u200bway of \u200bending conflict \u2060and then ending the war. And we want this \u200bwar to come to an \u200bend \u2060immediately,” he said.<\/p>\n
