He clarified that this name, according to Article 65 of the Family Code, signifies that the father is unknown and that,\u00a0<em>&#8220;since his father is unknown, his origin is ambiguous<\/em>\u00a0. &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>It was not immediately clear whether the court would accept this argument or when a verdict would be reached.<\/p>\n<p>The Minister of Territorial Administration, Bruno Yapand\u00e9, rejected Nguimal\u00e9&#8217;s request, describing it as a tool intended to\u00a0<em>&#8220;sow confusion among the population&#8221;<\/em>\u00a0.<\/p>\n<p>The final list of candidates for the election has not yet been published. The president is seeking a third term, which would extend his rule into a second decade\u2014a possibility made possible after the removal of\u00a0term limits\u00a0in 2023.<\/p>\n<p>This affair comes as the government refuses to issue a passport to opposition leader\u00a0Anicet Georges Dologu\u00e9l\u00e9\u00a0, potentially rendering him\u00a0stateless\u00a0.
