The World Health Organization reports\u00a064 confirmed and probable infections, including\u00a042 deaths, since the outbreak began \u2014 a fatality rate of about\u00a066 percent.<\/p>\n<p>In the past week,\u00a0seven new cases and seven deaths\u00a0were recorded across three health areas, but experts note the pace of transmission is slowing thanks to improved surveillance, case management, and infection control.<\/p>\n<p>The outbreak remains\u00a0localized, affecting six of 21 health zones in Bulape, though\u00a0five health workers\u00a0have been infected, three fatally.
