As part of the 64th anniversary of the Malian army, the head of the military government, General Assimi Goita, announced the creation of an arms industry.<\/p>\n
General Goita, announced on Sunday the creation of a national military industry in 2025, including \u201cassembly units for individual and collective weapons\u201d and \u201cassembly of light tactical vehicles.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThe process of equipping the armed and security forces will be improved in 2025 with the establishment of a military industry,\u201d the Malian leader said in his speech to the Nation, adding that the country was working \u201cactively on the installation of arms factories\u201d also including \u201cammunition manufacturing.\u201d<\/p>\n
Referring to the \u201crise in power\u201d of Malian forces, General Goita stressed that \u201cMali is no longer a favourite terrain for those nostalgic for a bygone past.\u201d<\/p>\n
This is a thinly veiled reference to the former French partner whose troops left the country in 2022.<\/p>\n
The Malian president also praised at length the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) with Burkina Faso and Niger, calling it \u201cthe fruit of a vision of rediscovered unity\u201d that makes it possible to \u201cstand together in the face of challenges and threats.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
