Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu will call for an immediate ceasefire and peaceful resolution of the Israel-Palestinian conflict when he attends the upcoming Arab-Islamic summit in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh, his office said on Saturday.<\/p>\n
“Nigeria will also advocate for renewed efforts to revive the two-state solution as a pathway for lasting peace in the region,” said presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga.<\/p>\n
The yearly summit, due to start on Nov. 11, is held at the invitation of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. Nigeria is a member of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and it is invited in that capacity.<\/p>\n
Tinubu, whose administration is fighting Islamist insurgents in the northeast of the country, will be accompanied to Riyadh by a delegation of cabinet ministers, including those for foreign affairs and information, along with his national security adviser and the head of the security intelligence agency.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
