In Burkina Faso, the head of the junta, Captain Ibrahim Traor\u00e9, will not take the oath of office for the additional five years granted to him following national dialogue, the countdown to which begins this Tuesday. The Burkina new agency (AIB) announced this on Monday, July 1, citing Justice Minister, Rodrigue Bayala.<\/p>\n
On May 25, Captain Ibrahim Traor\u00e9 was given another five years to lead the country after he took power in a coup d\u2019\u00e9tat in September 2022.<\/p>\n
For this five-year term, which will take effect on July 2, 2024, \u201cthere will be no new swearing in of the president of Faso,\u201d Bayala announced.<\/p>\n
