Tensions are rising following the presidential elections in Chad on Monday, May 6, which pitted ten candidates against each other, including transitional President General Mahamat Deby and Prime Minister Succ\u00e8s Masra. On Wednesday, May 8, the Les Transformateurs party denounced \u201cthreats and intimidation\u201d against its candidate, Succ\u00e8s Masra, and his militants.<\/p>\n
In a press release signed by its secretary general, Tog-yeum Nagorngar, the party accused political actors of carrying out \u201cvery serious\u201d provocations using state resources.<\/p>\n
In support of this accusation, the party cites the \u201cpermanent drone surveillance of the private residence of its candidate, Dr. Succ\u00e8s Masra.\u201d<\/p>\n

The few-second clip, apparently taken by a drone, shows the interior of the courtyard of the home of the minister and Les Transformateurs party candidate in the May 6 presidential election.<\/p>\n
A close-up shows a young man entering the residence with a rectangular container that closely resembles a ballot box used in presidential elections.<\/p>\n
These images led some netizens to accuse the party of \u201cballot box stuffing\u201d. The party\u2019s general secretariat denies this.<\/p>\n
For the party of Succ\u00e8s Masra, these threats are the orchestrations of \u201cthose who are afraid of the truth of the ballot box\u201d.<\/p>\n
