The announcement was made by the Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation and National Meteorology, Fatime Goukouni Weddeye, at a press briefing on<br \/>\nMonday 12 February 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Ndjamena\u2019s candidate is Adoum Younousmi, the country\u2019s former Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure under the late President Idriss Deby Itno. According to the Minister for Civil Aviation, Chad\u2019s candidate has acquired in-depth expertise in the field of infrastructure and transport.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe candidacy of this former minister is of particular importance, as it offers ASECNA the opportunity to benefit from a leader with a strategic vision and an in-depth understanding of the specific needs of Member States in terms of civil aviation and airport infrastructure development,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, in addition to his in-depth knowledge of the infrastructure and transport sector, the candidate, Adoum Younousmi, also has international experience and a proven ability to work in multicultural and multilingual environments, which could strengthen ASECNA\u2019s position on the regional and international scene.<\/p>\n<p>In a related development, the current Director General of the Civil Aviation Authority (ADAC), Mahamat Awar\u00e9 Neissa, has resigned from his post. He cited \u201cunacceptable working conditions\u201d as the reason for his resignation.
